Bush and Armageddon

This afternoon I was listening to talk radio, and a caller advanced the notion that Bush's remaining supporters must all be apocalytic Christians, because he's down to around 30% in the polls, and that's roughly the percentage of Americans who believe that the Apocalypse is coming. And, of course, based on his recent behavior, he might be trying to, umm, "bring it on". Could that be true? From http://www.cnn.com/SPECIALS/1999/at2000/stories/religion/[^] According to a poll in April, 44 percent of Americans think Jesus will likely return to Earth within the next 50 years. The poll was conducted by Princeton Research Associates for Pew Research Center for the People & the Press. Another Princeton Research Associates poll conducted for Newsweek magazine in November found that 40 percent of Americans believe the world will end with the battle of Armageddon as described in the New Testament book of Revelation. Of those, some 47 percent believe the Antichrist is already on Earth. Are we really that crazy?

BTW, polls are rarely accurate, that is unless everyone in the US was polled, and I wasn't. It should read it was "44% of those polled". Jeremy Falcon
