But ever since then there have been lots of other incidents of muslims being violent. Look at Darfur, sudan, or all the bombings in Iraq. How many incidents of Christians being violent in the last few years can you remember? MOΛΩN ΛABE

Bible Wars, Jonesboro and Paducah, Eric Rudolph, the Rawanda massacre, the killings comitted by Christian Serbs in Bosnia. Oh, I'm sure there's more, I just can't be bothered to do your research for you.

No, it has more to do with gangs and illegal mexican immigrants, which buy their guns off the black market anyway
But how is that possible when they make up only 12% (your figure) of your population. Don't those figures strike you as odd? So, 12% of your population is responsible for all the chaos in America? It has absolutely nothing to do with the ability to simply go buy a gun. That's the answer then? So, illegal Mexican immigrants who work to support themselves illegally by earning less than minimum wage and send most of the money back to their families in their home countries have pockets bursting with spare cash to buy illegal arms on the black market then? How can you explain the difference between gun crime in Canada (with gun control) and gun crime in the U.S. (no gun control)? We have lots of illegal immigrants too. Surely if it was them then both countries would have soaring rates of gun crime, no? What about that situation? How can you explain that?

 I live in a neighborhood where some neighbors own guns and there is no "Chaos". I even own a SKS rifle, and it hasnt driven me to kill anyone. Seriously, it is stupid to make statements like that if you havent lived here. You have no idea how it really is. All you see is what the media reports, which is ususlly negative.

I was referring to gangs, not 'families who work to support themselves'.

You can go buy guns in Canada, they just have to be registered. MOΛΩN ΛABE

So by your logic does it somehow make islam a peaceful religion if there are incidents where christians have commited crimes? MOΛΩN ΛABE

I've lived in more places than you probably ever will and that includes the U.S., so don't tell me I don't know about American law or society because I do. I also know (having lived there and many other states) that in Arizona, at 18 years old, girls receive guns as a standard birthday present. The U.S. has a very large problem with violent crime. You can pretend it's not there all you want, but I've lived there and I know what goes on and that's not just from the media either.

I had to google this. Apparently Catholics and Protestants were arguing over schooling and nobody was killed? Great example.
thealj wrote:
Jonesboro and Paducah
What are you talking about? link[^]. The shooters weren't even Christian. They were probably atheists (as most these kids are). The only Christian was the son of a pastor who approached the killer and asked him to stop. Oh, the Christian violence!!!
thealj wrote:
Eric Rudolph
He acted on his own and was condemned by both Catholics and Protestants alike.
thealj wrote:
Rawanda massacre
That was a civil war.
thealj wrote:
Christian Serbs
I don't know how widespread that was. Perhaps they learned from their atheist rulers?

Uh...That's a lie. I lived in Arizona for 8 years. You just completely made that up. I didn't know a single girl who even owned a gun.

True, but disarming law abiding citizens is not the answer. It would create more problems. The Revolutionary War began with resistance to gun confiscations (sp?). MOΛΩN ΛABE

No, actually I didn't make that up. It's true. I lived in Pheonix for 3 years and it was standard practice for fathers to present their daughters with a gun when they turned 18. I knew 6 families that did that.

To be honest, I don't know what the solution is. As long as there are guns (regulated or not) you're going to have gun crime. Regulation, de-regulation, whatever. I think the problem is larger than that.

Sorry, but that's BS. I lived in Tucson for 8 years, went to college from people all around Arizona (including Scottsdale, Mesa, Flagstaff and Phoenix) and none of them even owned a gun. There is certainly not "standard practice". My sister who lives in Tucson does not own a gun. Not one of her friends owns a gun. You are either lying or lived in the ghetto.

We should take away knives to prevent knife crime, too.

Interesting how people like you are so quick to criticize all christians because of a violent video game, but will not criticize Islam after its followers kill people daily in the name of their religion. When is the last time you can remember that christians killed a group of people with a roadside bomb, or flew airplanes into a building killing thousands of people? MOΛΩN ΛABE

I'm actually thinking I might buy some beachfront property in Florida in about 9 years. The National Weather Service is predicting about 10 years of violent hurricanes (no...there's no relation to global warming). By then everything will be so battered that property values might be low. They'll skyrocket after a couple years of no hurricane weather!
A very recent BBC TV Documentary (in association with the Discovery Channel) suggests that if the global warming turns out to be as bad as predicted, Miami would be a city 50 miles from land, and that the Florida Everglades would disappear. Your beachfront property could be some place that is currently 50 miles inland. ;P

As predicted by Al Gore? I'm willing to bet a few hundred thousand against those crackpots.

In the UK at this moment there is a "knife amnesty" where knife owner can anonymously surrender such weapons. Even though this is in progress there is well reported knife crime (deaths etc) occuring in the UK. So removing knives and guns is an admirable policy, in practice, it is just the tip of an iceberg and is doomed to failure as those who commit such crimes are not going to surrender their weaponry.
