So half of them are lazy criminal invaders. That just makes all the differnce. "You get that which you tolerate"

I don't think any of those 3 words apply to the majority of them. They're neither lazy, nor criminal, nor invaders. What they are is illegal. Alvaro

Millions of illegal immigrants in the United States never jumped the U.S.-Mexico border where Congress wants to erect impenetrable walls and President Bush is sending National Guard troops to patrol. They never sneaked in at all. The little-acknowledged reality is that nearly half the estimated 12 million undocumented foreigners in the United States entered on bona fide U.S. visas - and simply never left.[^]
If their visa expired and they're still here, then they're illegals...

Yes they are. They committed a criminal act.

At least a wall would stop that from happening.
Nice assumption. Hope it works better than a firewall. Hey maybe we should build the wall out of fire! :)

There was a wall that seperated a city in Europe.
Well if you do any reading you will note that wall was to keep people in, against their will. This wall is to keep people out. It's the same as you see in any subdivision.

Before that there was another wall built called a Great Wall, can still be seen today. It did not stop the agressors, only slowed them down and forced them to learn more.
Actually that wall was quite effective. Read here "The Great Wall offers excellent defence since it had been built in strategic places. It played an vital role then. There were many instances in ancient times that it took a very long time to take a city or mountain pass. And even cases that those who launched the attack had to retreat without a fight, for they saw the strong defence work of the city. In the Central Plain of China such firm and high defence work proved to be very useful to foil the attacks of mobile cavalry, which roamed from one place to another. As a result of Ming Dynasty's continuous construction and improvement, the Great Wall became a perfect defence network, whereby the central Chinese authority could, by means of various administrative and military levels of organization, reach the basic or grass root military unit, down to each soldier guarding the Great Wall. " A wall will not keep any military aggressors out, but it will keep criminals out. It may not stop 100%, but if it stops even 50% it will be well worth it. That's a hell of a distinction. Do you think walls to keep things out have some magical property that make them more effective than walls to keep things in? Please tell us how that works.

What does race have to do with stopping people from entering a country illegally? My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"
kgaddy wrote:

Nothing. Every country has the obligation of protecting it's borders. And it is good that americans do that. But the attitude among a racist minority goes beyond that. The kind of discourse I see here in the Soapbox looks like an American version of Francois-Marie Le Pen and it's Front Nationale. At a close look, no one is normal.

The most racist people I ever met was French. They are the most anti-semitic people by far. They are still defacing Jewish graves in that country. We had some soccer players from France, and they always talked how they hated Jews. They never took showers either and after pratice smell relly bad, but that goes without saying. There was an invention made many years ago to control this. They called it...a "gate".

Actually, they are. By definition, if you break a nation's laws and take actions to avoid punishement, you are a criminal.

I'm actually pretty sure that 10% of one nation illegally entering another nation constitutes an invasion. "You get that which you tolerate"

Caetano VelosoFunny, I never heard anyone say anything bad about The Mexican people. Can you point to a thread? All I heard was bad-mouthing illegals, which of course, is ok. My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"

I think Japan is far more racist. And the most racist people are probably the Jewish. -------- "I say no to drugs, but they don't listen." - Marilyn Manson
I'm pretty sure the French should be pretty close to the top of that list. "You get that which you tolerate"

No, the distinction that was made is a moral one. Do you want me to explain that to you? My mom told me once that "while we all don't speak the same language, everyone in the world undestands an asskicking"

That does not surprise me at all. In fact, almost every people is racist. What matters is how they behave with other races. -------- "I say no to drugs, but they don't listen." - Marilyn Manson

I see... "lazy" because they didn't have to struggle to get here. The problem is that to remain here, they need money. And unless they have lots of that, they have to get their butts working.

OK... I know a man *cough* who drove over the speed limit this morning and was never caught. Is he a criminal?

Nah, an invasion translates to hostility. Most of these people just want to live and work here, like you and I do.
