My problem or IE 5.5?
-
Hi everyone, I have just installed IE 5.5 but I encounter some interesting features. Since IE 5.5, many sites I visited the browser first come up with some hex-like number e.g 69 75 etc. on the top left corner. These numbers stayed even the whole page is done. I am thinking is it me or IE?

What sites does this happen on? I've heard a lot of bad things about IE 5.5 but all my experiences with it have been great. cheers, Chris Maunde
People say alot of Really Bad Things about IE, but I believe their comments to be an ABM reflex. As far as Microsoft's support for HTML, CSS1+2, the DOM, and any other web technology, you're going to find it to be the most complete. On the downside, they do have the embrace, extend, assimiliate philosophy going for it in a couple of areas (JScript, XML parser, ActiveX, Coolbar's...). Then again there's Mozilla 5.0, which IS doing great things for customization and extensibility, but they also have a great deal of proprietary extensions to make their browser do neat things. Then again Netscape isn't in the status quo, so it's acceptable....correct? Unless you consider Netscape part of AOL, but let's convienently forget that, shall we

Quite a few actually. The one comes to mind immediately is codeguru. I've just tried it again and I got '9d0' (hex?) on the top left and other strange hex interspersed on the page. When I refresh the page I get '9a8', so this no. is either random or something IE doesn't understand. The other one is codejock. Interestingly enough, www.microsoft.com is free from this annoying added-in. Anyhow, I still suspect it is my setup problem even though I've tried the rather nice sounding IE's 'repair' action on the installation files. BTW, is it possible to put a 'direction sign' (link) to this lounge on the home page? I love this lounge
