A president can speak and act in the name of his country. While he's at work, everybody expects him to do so. President G.W. Bush just showed the world how an US-american guy treats his female peers. Bush demonstrates the American way of politeness ^ Here are some text versions of the story: http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/Bush_massages_German_Chancellor_Merkel_at_0718.html http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,204939,00.html

Painting with a broad brush there aren't you? Figured you'd be a bit smarter than that. Personally, my attitude was always hands off my co-workers of the opposite sex. Not that I may have ill intentions, but you can't control what others think or how they perceive things. As far as this specific incident goes, I just don’t understand why he would do this. Perhaps he completely lacks social skills or there is some context we are missing. -- modified at 14:48 Thursday 27th July, 2006

You responded this way because: 1. You don't care how the leader of your country behaves in front of (or behind) other leaders. 2. You already know Bush is an utter failure at anything he's done being President and hate being reminded of it again. 3. You only want to see war-related threads. 4. It's old news. Alvaro

Do we see something different over here in Australia? I saw a segment from The Late Show With David Letterman where W is talking about a potted plant. I just don't get it.

I completely agree with you. It's entirely reasonable to suggest that our US president embodies, in every way, the thoughts and opinions of 150 million American males. In fact, we are all clones.

She treated him with a show of smoke rings (coming out of places you didn't think was possible)
