I just saw a post on another message board I frequent (all to often) that really made me angry. A person had an assignment to do in Delphi, but because he was too lazy to learn it the previous year (his words), he wanted to know if anybody had a link to a ".exe to delphi converter". Not even a decompiler! Or he is just too dumb to know what that is. Stealing software for personal gain is one thing. Getting open-source or public source code and claiming it as your own is one thing. Asking someone else to do your homework for you is one thing. but FFS!!! Trying to steal some software, then steal the code out of that, then claim it as your own!       </vent> thanks for reading. -- David Wengier Sonork ID: 100.14177 - Ch00k

I agree! That's completely different from buying a hobbyist's operating system, calling it DOS, and selling as your own. Or copying another desktop style, calling it Windows, and selling it, too. There oughta be a law!!!

I understand your sentiments only too well, David. Being an author and a frequent contributor to many sites, I quite regularly experience the site of seeing my own code under someone else's name! They could at least change the darn variable names! Anyway, I know it doesn't help, but the only thing I can remind you of is the expression that "immatation is the sincerest form of flattery". Other than that, just go on about your life knowing that you, at least, have honour and that anything you can do or say to this person probably isn't going to change him/her.
