      It really depends on individual working scenario. In general, people don't use images downloaded from the Internet, as this may cause legal issues in the future. In my case, our company has a Graphics group, which we can turn to for help in preparing nice graphics and images. Some software developers are good at graphical design, but most aren't (at least I'm not). So my advice would be: 1) finding a graphics person in your work place to help, or 2) trying to avoid animation. A crap animation is worse than no animation.

          Very likely. Also, you can find lots of web sites that provide free little images/icons for variuos purposes.
