That's absolutely retarded. If I were the father, I'd take the idiot principle to task.

This act by that school is tantamount to discrimination. And that IS against English Law and as far as I know, European Law also outlaws discrimination. Anyhow, did you get fed-up with the name "thealj" ? or perhaps following Espeir's initiative.

1 snack good, 2 snacks bad[^]. This new legislation is a gift to chateratti health Nazis. All it required was an increase in the budget for school meals, not teachers rifling through lunch boxes making nutritional judgements they are not qualified for. That lunch was hardly the sugar puff sandwiches and tango I saw when I was in school.

Oh jesus fucking christ, whatever next! That fucking country, alaways bouncing from one extreme to another when the latest fad becomes trendy. If Thatcher hadnt sold school meals to the lowest bidder, and forced the kids to eat shit for the last 20 years, we wouldnt be in this situation now. School meals werent the best in my day, but they were balanced. Meat, veg, desert.

That is funny considering the word "nuts" is sometimes used by children to mean testicles. It may be different where you live but in America, other kids would be cruel to him.

These guidelines indicate the type and proportion of foods that make up a healthy diet. taken from [^] From my understandings, guidelines are NOT legislation. They cannot be enforced under any British statute but a relevant court will be obliged take them into account.

Only for items sold or supplied by such establishments, but not for packed-lunches as supplied by parents/carers.

Not sure that Thatcher can only be blamed for that. When she was Education Minister I remember her stopping free school milk - a big mistake I feel.

Yep I remember that back in the 60's and as far as I recall, there was usually a reasonable choice of foodstuffs.

That terminology is pretty universal, but I believe the kids are pretty good about it, considering that he's at risk of death and all. Although, from what I've seen, a lot of parents just don't care. We're very careful with what our kids take to school as a result of this.

Sad indeed. I fear that something like this will come to a public school system near me. I wonder how these so-called instructors can sleep at night. What do they do with the more active children who may need a bit of additional nurishment to keep from becoming paper thin? Drug them? Call it A.D.D. I have been scrimping and saving for 5 years before my son was born so I can have the choice to send him to a private school and avoid all of this Politicly Correct maddness.

A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects. - -Lazarus Long, Time Enough For Love

Yeah, it seemed boring. I spotted the little Java teacup in my taskbar and was thinking about North Korea and how I really didn't like Java (programming language) all that much and "Apocalyptic Teacup" popped into my head. It sounded cool in a strange sort of way, so I changed it.

Ha ha, thought you might be. I have a crappy compaq keyboard, and whatever I do I cant get the antibounce time below my normal typing of double characters. It is the same whenever I type 'good' it always comes out as 'god'. Hence 'desert' for 'dessert'.
