    hello everyone!! i want to know, 1)what are .pst files?? 2)what is the structure of .pst files??? can anyone please provide me any link where i can get the info about them. thanks in advance... :):)

        thanks for the reply. i went through the info given by u. but i want to know more about them. i want to know how the .pst files are physically stored. i heard they have different physical layout when compared to other files. so, can anyone give any info about the physical layout of the .pst files?? thanks... :):)

            The internal layout/format of the file is obviously going to be different, but nothing physically different as far as the OS is concerned.

                The format of the file is propriatery. While information might be available, since it is not supported by Microsoft, are you sure you'd want to rely upon it? What exactly is it that you are after (that Outlook Automation does not offer)?

                  well sir, i saw a software that is used to recover the .pst files in the outlook. i want to know how it exactly works. someone insisted me that knowing the physical layout of the .pst files may help in understaning how the sowtware works. so, i wanted to know the physical layout. i am curious to know about how that software works. so, i am searching for the info on .pst files.
