Outsourcing...

Offshore: I recall having had a conversation about this possibility a while back (like 2-3 years) and wadda ya know It pops up in yahoo news just a little while ago. Offshore Outsourced Health Care In that conversation I also mentioned Offshore Outsourcing of executives maybe I will see that next week after the election, will the wonders never cease. Hmm let's see in the USA we make almost nothing and we mostly just provide services and buy products. I wonder how long you can maintain a viable economy letting this continue as a trend.

I wonder when we'll see the first reports of outsourced ERs. "Oh, you have a gun shot wound in your gut? That'll be section A2 at our facilities in Bangalore, India - we wish you a safe trip!"

There's an increasing number of people from the UK, USA etc. who visit India for surgery that they couldn't afford to do in their countries. They usually get the surgery done at a third of what it'd otherwise have cost them.

And I wonder how much control those companies really have over the plants they have in China. I'm betting they don't really. Next thing you know a Chinese company takes over, turns out the same product, and sells it in the US and everyone is out of luck.

Needless to say the person I was talking to thought I was an idiot to think it was possible. Seeing it today was like Deja Vu... weird. Alright the next part of my Vision was outsourcing corporate Execs followed by CEO's. Today I figured it would really help us in the USA if we outsourced our Insurance companies who are the ones that are really making the money. Now if I could get this vision to work for the lotto or the ponies I could retire and spend my time making Abstract Expressionist paintings

I have a friend who's father did this. It was not a third - it was a fifth of what it would cost locally even including airfare and lodging. And the procedure was done on a very professional basis according to his doctor here. If I had to have a major procedure done that was not covered by insurance I would certainly consider this as a viable option. Richard
