Actually, I think it's over for now. Marvin is probably overdosing on making an ass of himself, and finally realising that no-one from the US is jumping in to agree with him. In any case, name calling is pretty much all we have left, I refuse to argue on his turf, which would require attacking America and would easily be misinterpreted. I have too much respect for the Americans on this site who know how to behave like a rational human being to risk offending them needlessly by stopping to Marvin's level ( although I'm always up for an argument about gun laws, of course ). I regret that this did not occur to me before some of the things I posted today, but I don't regret calling Marvin an idiot ( he is one ) or pointing out that his views are narrow minded and bigoted ( they are ). Was Marvin the person who started war over the 'disrespect' of calling Microsoft M$ ? I seem to recall that was one of his as well.... Christian The tragedy of cyberspace - that so much can travel so far, and yet mean so little. "I'm somewhat suspicious of STL though. My (test, experimental) program worked first time. Marvanski has pulled out or so it seems. The show has been cancelled. Sorry, you won't get re-funds. By the way some of you might have been billed even though the show has been called off. This is only for people who used a quote in the address field. This crashed our SQL as we didnt check for quotes. Sorry, as mentioned you won't be refunded. But next time we have a show you'll get a deduction if possible ;-) Nish

It's fine for your country to come up with your own laws and whatnot. My country happened to be founded in such a way that gave every person the right to keep and bear arms. I personally like my freedom and do not like it to be tampered with. I have the right to protect my family and myself and if I feel that a gun is the right tool for the job then so be it. It is irresponsible people that give the rest of us bad names. Furthermore pretending like America is the only country that has school shootings is preposterous. -Jack To an optimist the glass is half full. To a pessimist the glass is half empty. Nish [BusterBoy] wrote: This is only for people who used a quote in the address field. This crashed our SQL as we didnt check for quotes. Sorry, as mentioned you won't be refunded. LOL, you know that one of the US government websites has this problem? I've even e-mailed them about it and the stupid thing isn't fixed yet. :-D Luckily its on a site that isn't used by a lot of people, but I would have expected a company out-sourced to create a website for the gov't would do a better job than that. The real kicker is they probably got paid 20 times what it would have cost for any other company to have the same thing done. Christian Graus wrote: I refuse to argue on his turf, Christian, I glanced through that thread and it seems to me that you *were* the first one to refer to someone as stupid (if I'm wrong, I apologize). I am certainly not going to defend his repsonse to you, but you've got to expect that every now and then someone is going to respond in a less than intellectual manner to that sort of wording. The definition of the word "stupid" is not "any opinion different from my own." Frankly, I do think that American's are routinely the victims of bigoted remarks on this forum. The only thing that surprises me are the number of American's who seem to think they deserve it, that somehow the bigoted view the rest of the world has of us actually has some merit. It doesn't. I refuse to be drawn into this argument again, it's been proven before that the issue is socialisation, you're simply raised to believe something that people who are not from the USA percieve as totally preposterous. It's just not worth arguing about, because there is no possibility of a resolution. Christian The tragedy of cyberspace - that so much can travel so far, and yet mean so little.
