Like I said to the other guy, this is a religious issue to Americans, and hardly one likely to be discussed rationally. It's also an issue I cannot take with cold logic, I have children and I feel strongly about their NOT living in a country where school shootings are common ( as opposed to never occuring once in Australia ). Protection, hunting, and recreation (whew, almost typed pleasure there, nearly forgot this was R&R X|) Here protection is used to protect ones self and family, and to protect your property from various wild life that decide to chew up your entire garden :mad: If people practiced gun safety (never point a gun at something you don't intend to kill, keep it locked up & unloaded) and get it out of their kids heads that gun == toy then the world (ok at least America) would be a much better place. If you don't have a need to own a gun then don't own one, I don't own a gun, I have no need to; but I'm not about to tell my grandma she can't own a gun because some idiots didn't know to keep their gun locked up.
