I'm completely fed up with over-zealous forum moderators that think everyone has to feel good about themselves and everyone else, and completely moderate out anything that even slightly resembles a differenc eof opinion, criticism, name-calling, outright flame fests, and other shit that I thoroughly enjoy. Case in point - Team Lightspeed. These guys run a web site that caters to racing sims, and there are several forums within which you can post messages about different things (all sim racing related). One of my favorite things about my selected racing sim is that I can create paintjobs for the cars, and Lightspeed has a car painting forum where you can post pics of your paintjobs, ask for help painting, and other such stuff. In the past, I had made comments about other paintjobs when the original author asked for opinions, and I was summarily lambasted for having a "negative atitude" (if they didn't want my opinion, they shouldn't have asked for it). Yesterday, someone asked for a car to be painted that has been done OVER a dozen times by different people, or that used similar sponsorship and graphics gimmicks. I made a comment along that veign, and believe it or not didn't use a single naughtty word, didn't call anyone a name, or anything like that. It was merely an opinion about the proliferation of said paintjob. Today, I went back to read the forums, and the ASSHOLES had blocked my IP address from even *reading* the forums. Well, I guess I'll just have to access the motherfucker from HOME. Block that shit you stupid feel-good conservative fuckwads! The only alternative really is to start your own website, and show them how stuff should be done. But that's a hassle. Regardz Colin J Davies

Welcome to the Internet, John, where some immature (not necessarily young) kiddie can be a moderator and act out his control fantasies to make up for his own pathetic life, and a whole gang of idiots can have a big groupthink group-hug going "yeah!". That's the main reason I avoid public discussion boards, aside from CP where we have a nice community. (And when the discussion IQ in the Lounge drops, it fixes itself in a day or 2. ;)) --Mike-- Actual sign at the laundromat I go to: "No tinting or dying" Like the Google toolbar? That can be extremely irritating. Just the opposite happened with me. My and some friends used to frequent a site about a racing game and it was totally unmoderated. It was like a kindergarten at times. We got fed up and started our own site and it has been doing fairly well. Well enough to be linked to from the game's official site. If the game you are into is popular enough, chances are you can find another forum to visit. Good Luck.

LOL This is so true in IRC channels. Usually the main IRC ops are 14-16 yr olds. I have got banned for differences in opinion with one of the ops' online girlfriends. Of course I was a teen then too, but I was sure I was very civil in my behaviour. Once I got banned, I connected again using a socks proxy and went to this girl and to this op and in an extreme reflection of my 19 year old maturity, abused them both thoroughly uasing as many bad phrases and words as I could, disconnected and relaxed in peace with the memories of a well done job Nish_

One little CD gone, Then two CDs gone, Then 5 more gone, For a total 7 gones, If I was a CD R, I'd wanna cry, Cause I'd be just a goner, For a nasty CD burner. [funny how frustration wakes up the poet in me]_

Well, I went home and successfully read the forums, but I logged on with a computer that had never visited the site before, just in case they were keying the ban on my registered user ID. here's the thread (in it's entirety). ================================================== From yeldarb12: i am a good painter i just cant get on psp7 right now because i got grounded from the computer with PSP7 on it, althogh i can get on the one with N2002 on it so i need a 2 cars done for me, these babies are teamates. First car: Bradley Thibeau Number: 12 Sponser: NIKE Associate sponsers: Pepsi,Gatorade, skittles, oreo,YAMAHA,nesquick Side Notes: Please make a bright colors like Blues and greens(neon green perferably cuz that is my favorite color) Second car: Trent Legassie Number: 23 Sponser: Oreo Associate sponsers: Pepsi, NIKE, Gatorade, skittles,YAMAHA,nesquick. Side Notes: Please put a milk splash on it( Perferably Rockhounds) Thank you these are for N2002 From Chris_Reed: LOL...........now that is funny. From yeldarb12: What is so funny? From jsimmons: The whole thread is funny (grounded?). Nike has been done at least twice, maybe three times. YAOCWMS (yet another oreo car with milk splash). Why don't you guys be original and ask for something that hasn't been run into the freakin ground? (If he asks for a flames car or a Harley car, I'm gonna puke.) From Ash_Hogan: simmons if you not gonna drive it don't worry about it! From jsimmons: I'm here to say what everyone else seems to be afraid to say for fear of ridicule or some bizarre need to be politically correct. It's a burden that I have chosen to share with others. From Brian_Simpson (a moderator): That's great John, But if you think you are going to come here and belittle other peoples choices and tastes so they fit yours, you are wrong. Please refrain from the attitude. From 30+Fog Hats off to Brian!! From ShoppingCart: ahhh nike, i have a patch that says slavery... the v is the nike swoosh, i wonder what that means... simmons actully has a point to a certain extent. these cars have been done multiple times... just do what i do, steal them, change the number font and pass it off as your own. (if u need help with the slavery thing, it has to do with 3rd world countries and cheap labor... then they turn around and sell it to us for brutal amm
