Optimizing memory usage in Windows Vista
-
I have been poking around with the superfetch trying to disable it. I found out that if I disable the superfetch service, the memory usage on my notebook drops by 200MB. This is a large amount considering the fact that my notebook has 512MB to spend. Although it's nice that I saved 200MB, I would like to save more. I was wondering what services I could disable to save even more... Anyone have an idea?

Richard A. Abbott suggested this[^] tool, but I have yet to try it. Maybe it'll give you something to play with. Marc

Damn, running Vista on 512MB that shouldn't be smooth right? Does your 200MB memory save improves the performance? I though the superfetch was to improve performance? Doesn't it allocate less if you need it?
