Upgrading XP to Vista looses some IE extensions
-
I have a browser extension installed on my XP machine. After I upgrade the OS to Vista my extension is no longer present. But some extensions like "Microsoft Developer Toolbar" and "Yahoo Services" are still available after the upgrade. Anyone knows what else is to be done further to creating the registry entries for the browser extension?

The IE7 installer will disable any toolbars that are known to cause bad problems with IE7. Go to the web sites for those toolbars and see if there are updates available.

Hi Michael, Firstly, the problem is not with a toolbar, but an extension that adds an icon into the standard IE toolbar. Secondly, there is no web sites for these extensions. They are mine. ;P So you mean to say that I'm doing something bad. :~ :wtf: am I doing wrong. Any tips ???

I think it's pretty amazing that someone used the words "upgrade" and "Vista" in the same sentence and the fact that the two terms are so diametrically opposed, yet nothing bad seems to have happened in this dimensional plane of existence. I'm sure entire worlds are being rendered uninhabitable somewhere as a result, though.
