Hi, Will the Windows Vista replace the Windows 2003 Server system? Or is it just an improvement on Windows XP? Which will be the ideal edition of Vista if I want to do Web Development on?? Is the Ultimate edition really worthwhile buying?? Regards, ma se

No, Windows Vista is a client operating system. Windows Server Codename "Longhorn" is still under development; it's expected to be released towards the end of this year. Right now I wouldn't use Vista for web development. Vista includes IIS 7.0, which is in some ways quite a departure from previous versions.

Is the Ultimate edition really worthwhile buying??

No. Well, if you want both the ability to join a domain and to use the system remotely, and the media centre functionality, then yes. Personally I don't have any need for Media Center, so Windows Vista Business is the right edition for me.

Stability. What an interesting concept. -- Chris Maunder
