Sneaky marketting people

Just got a call from a telemarketer; except I didn't get to the phone in time so the answering machine picked it up right after I did. Soon as the answering machine finished its thing I said hello a few times then the lady on the phone started talking, but it didn't respond to anything I said. It was a recording! They went all out on it too, even had the recorded person act surprised that I "wasn't home", then included the sound of the phone hanging up after the message was done. What will they think of next, recorded phone sex operators?!?! I'm leaving the conversation on the answering machine just so my parents can hear it when they get home :) James Simplicity Rules!

I've gotten these too; caught me off-guard as well. Still, it does make me slightly less worried than coming home to find a string of blank messages. At least i can hit delete without worrying that someone was actually needing to talk to me. :) --------_**

The last two were iNNERHOST calling yesterday, and someone calling on behalf of CP about the VS.NET offer. James Simplicity Rules!

I just had one call for my dad so I first asked what it was concerning, and he said a Credit Card account, and it turns out that it was a lie to keep me from screening it :( -:suss:Matt Newman / Windows XP Activist:suss: -Sonork ID: 100.11179

They are misrepresenting who they are; it would be like me knocking on your door claiming I was the furnace repair man, then when I get in I start to offer you deals on vacuum cleaners. If your dad remembers who they were, contact your state's attorney general. Ours did a wonderful job when Michigan Tech decided to not give back full bottle deposit (keeping half of it for to fund student activities) :) James Simplicity Rules!
