I've had it for some time and tried 4 different kinds of deodorant: Right Guard, Right Guard Gel, Old Spice Red Zone, and Axe Phoenix and none seem to work. I went to my doctor but he didn't smell anything but almost everyone else does. Whenever I take the train or go anywhere, people are always sniffing and occasionally I hear people say I smell behind my back. I've tried everything, changing my clothing, towels but nothing is working. Please help, its already ruining my social life and I don't want damage any further in my life. Any recommendations or help is appreciated.

Try witch hazel sponge baths. Or take to chewing cloves...

Is this because of sweat or just a general odor?

Change the food you eat. Go for veg, fruit, and avoid anything strong or spicy. Get some exercise to sweat the toxins out, that way you will sweat less durng ordinary activity. Then shower a lot, and buy new clothes or a new washing machine.

I agree with fat_boy in the food habit. I suggest you completely detoxify your body, say twice a month by being on a fruit juice or water-only fasting for a day. Read more on detoxification. Eat more fresh, natural food. Try to include a cup of chopped raw vegetables in your meal. Avoid (or reduce the consumption of) strong spicy food, especially meat. Some people have a higher perspiration rate and it is natural. Try applying a few drops of sandalwood pulp (you can make some by rubbing a small piece of sandalwood with a few drops of water spilled on a sandalwood disc) on your back and underarms, after bath. Increase your water consumption, and do some physical exercise. Try it for a month or so and you would feel the change.

Give up dairy products: they can cause body odour. Also, strong flavours such as garlic or chilli can cause you to exude an unpleasant odour the next day. Many people smell even though they shower at least once a day. They just forget to clean their clothes properly or only wash their hair every few days.

There is a deoderant product called Crystal Stick in the US. Its basically a mineral salt rock, and the principle is that it creates an environment that the bacteria which creates the funky smells can't live in. It doesn't provide a smell, and if you whiff your pits you still might detect, but most other's won't. Try shaving them first, as there are probably some clingons you can't get rid of otherwise.

                          This statement was never false.
