I have been searching documentation about windows api functions that could allow me to burn\write dvd's. I have not found a single article giving a general layout about how it can be done. Does anyone have a clue about which api's to use or have a link they can refer me to? I am not interested in using nero api\sdk or anyother companies existing sdk\api... Mike

I am not sure if that is what you are looking for, but NeroAPI (www.ahead.com) does seem to offer a lot of burning functionality. Then, again, you cannot just pass Nero along with your app, it needs to be licenced. I seem to remember that Microsoft also licensed some code from Roxio or another cdrw software company for their builtin burning functionality. However, if you find anything on that topic, please let us know :)

Check out Microsofts IMAPI http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa366450.aspx[^] Version 1.0 for XP, version 2.0 for Vista. AFAIK, version 1.0 can't burn DVD's
