Is Codeproject is under bot attack? (227,086 online)

Hi everyone! If you look at the line under the CodeProject logo at the top of the page, you'll see a fantastic number of 200K+ visitors online. I, being almost always "online" with CodeProject, never saw this number being bigger than 30K. Is CodeProject under bot attack?

It's been steadily rising since yesterday, it was 209,000 an hour ago so I would say that is a good possibility.

No, I'm just doing some actual work today
V. I found a living worth working for, but haven't found work worth living for.
I understand it is your personal Vendetta against CP, but I have some articles posted here, and other people with a few :-) articles too, please respect their work :-) I've posted a message to General Discussions forum - hope CP team will do something about this. Site begins to show some slowness.

The best place to post this would have been the Suggestion forum and probably a good idea not to cross post it as well. Chris is aware of some form of this as he replied to the original version of this message here[^].

This was asked/answered in the lounge a few hours ago.
-- Rules of thumb should not be taken for the whole hand.
But even if every access of the spider creates a new session, shouldn't the session time out (which is lower than "a few hours", right?) cause the number of online users to be constant? So either there is something wrong, or the session timeout is unreasonably high - I wouldn't count someone as online if the session has been idle for 5 hours.

Spider visits normally don't get counted for Visitor Stats right?

It shouldn't count spider-bots. There is a way to separate ordinary readers from robots by
