Why does some people here on CP start their messages with: "Sorry" "Sorry for this..." "Sorry guys.." "I'm sorry..." Everytime I see a post in Visual C++ forum with the begining: "Sorry, but can you..." I get crazy!! ------------------------------------ ****Rickard Andersson, Suza Computing ICQ#: 50302279 I'm from the winter country SWEDEN! ------------------------------------

I think Nish should do a study and see if this is gender related. The male ego having to admit he does not know everything. Either that or this is a medical study on early dementia and you are winning (Sorry) :-D To be conscious that you are ignorant of the facts is a great step towards Knowledge. Benjamin Disraeli

Sorry about the mis-posting I just deleted - with 4 "reply" windows open at a time, I often get them mixed up! :-O I think it probably has it's roots in our inherent fear of rejection and ridicule. I know if I am asking a question that I feel I should be able to answer myself - whic is most of them - I tend to feel a little uneasy about doing so incase I am made fun of (this applies to real life, as well as on CP). Tacking on the phrases "sorry but can you", "only if you have time", etc, reassure you when you are asking the question. It's a self-confidence thing. ____________________ David Wulff I'll have a slow comfortable screw against the wall followed up with sex on the beach and a screaming orgasm on the rocks, please. Oh, and make all that with a black russian will you. Dave's Code Project Screensaver and Wallpaper page. Talk to me.

Well, yes... but not when some of them write: "I am sorry"... okay.. it could be a person that don't understand English that much, and what he/she mean is that he just want to be polite as you say... but as I said in another message here somewhere I think they are afraid to ask a question.... ------------------------------------ ****Rickard Andersson, Suza Computing ICQ#: 50302279 I'm from the winter country SWEDEN! ------------------------------------
