Clients dont check back onto server

Hi guys. I have a problem with an antivirus server.Its not deploying the anti-virus and most of the clients dont check back onto the server.We have tried to format and reinstall the server but then its worse. Any idea on what I can do to make sure the other machines check back with the server. Please guys, this is straining us, someone help!!

Contact the support line of your virus software manufacturer. It's the best source of information your going to get with this. Besides, you never said anything about which software you're using.

No my friend.The anti-virus is working very well, its just the machines are not speaking to each other for some reason. It must be a hardware problem rather than software.

On all these machines at the same time? Not likely. Unless, of course, the machines can't talk to any server, like downloading web pages... Think again. If all these machines virus updaters won't contact the udpate server, and it's the only network app that has a problem, what's the most likely cause? A problem with the configuration of the updater?

2006, 2007No Dave, its only twelve machines that check back to the server.The rest dont.They can talk to the other servers, but just this one.Well, it couldn't be the configurations with the updater if some machines are checking back.We even tried to compare the configurations themselves but everything seemed to be Ok. Any more ideas??? I appreciate ur input guys.
