I have a shortcut in my Start menu to start a small utility. I also have a Shortcut Key defined on that shortcut. Now, if I navigate to and launch the the shortcut with the mouse or keyboard the utility starts immediately. However if I use the shortcut key I have defined, the utility appears to take anywhere from 2-6 seconds to start. Also, Explorer freezes during that period. Has anyone else experienced this, or have any ideas what might be causing this?

Go figure. I turned off UAC, and everything worked as expected, but here's the kicker, I turned UAC back on and it was still quick.
