Open Your Eyes

Here's something to think about this miserable rainy day: As I walk along these streets I see a man that walks alone Distant echo of peoples feet He has no place to call his own A shot rings out from a roof over head A crack head asks for change nearby An old man lies in an alleyway dead A little girl lost just stands there and cries What would you do, if it was you Would you take everything for granted like you do? A boy just 13 on the corner for sale Swallows his pride for another hit Overpopulation there's no room in jail But most of you don't give a shit That your daughters are porno stars and Your sons sell death to kids You're so lost in your little worlds Your little worlds you'll never fix What would you do, if it was you Would you take everything for granted like you do? You turn away As I walk along the streets Soaking up the cold rain Underneath the taxi cabs I hear the streets cry out in vain What would you do, if it was you Would you take everything for granted like you do? Open Your Eyes by Staind. There is a hell of a lot of truth and wisdom in this modern crap music. ____________________ David Wulff hu·mour Pronunciation Key (hymr) n. & v. Cheer up? I'm perfectly happy, I was merely pointing out just how true those words are, and, like the words state, just how easy it is to ignore them. ____________________ David Wulff hu·mour Pronunciation Key (hymr) n. & v. Chiefly British Dave's Code Project Screensaver and Wallpaper page.

Simon Walton wrote: Unfortunately, the only way to be happy with life is to ignore the bad bits and not dwell on them. Alas, ignoring the problems doesn't make them go away, in fact, it has the opposite effect. One day our willingness to turn a blind eye to all that we dislike will turn around and bite us all in the arse, and it will bite hard. Goddamit, the rain has started again. :(( ____________________ David Wulff hu·mour Pronunciation Key (hymr) n. & v. Chiefly British Dave's Code Project Screensaver and Wallpaper page.

Heheh, this sort of reminds me of the "Hullabalooza" episode of the Simpsons, where Homer is saying farewell to the Smashing Pumpkins: Homer: I'll miss you, Pumpkins, but I just can't share your bleak world view. I've got too much to live for. Corgan: We envy you, Homer. All we have is our music, our legions of fans, our million of dollars and our youth. Followed by the Pumpkins contemplating this, and planning a spending spree ;) ---Shog9---_**

I hate to sound like a broken record, but fat wads of cash and large homes mean nothing unless you're genuinely happy. Simon I need your clothes, your boots, and your copy of VS.NET. Sonork ID 100.10024

The simpsons kick ass. Homer makes the show though. Without him it'd just be another lame cartoon. :)

Well, that's very true. And i'm not familar enough with their background to be able to guess whether or not they are genuine in their attitude. My point was simply that there can be significant corporeal rewards for playing to depressed teenagers... ---Shog9---_**
