Frequency of sound

Hello Not a long ago I got a task to write a programm, that solve a frequency of sound card. All colculations must do in real-time. It's a my first project of that type and I not totally undestand how do it. May be it's programm had already done In this case would you be so kind as to write a text of programm or send to my e-mail. Beforehand thanks for all. p.s. language is c++
