In that specific case, I'm not sure I would pass my time trying to learn her how to read a map... Being lost somewhere could even presents some advantages, if you are a fine tactician :-D

She got a chance to re-answer the question. Apparently she was so nervous that she barely heard it. Clickity[^]

The question she was asked referred to a poll sayimg "most Americans can't..." - not "most women can't..."; the poll made no mention of gender, and the assumption is that it refers to (American) men equally as much as women.

Not only are we currently 49th in SAT (or maybe ACT) results, but we're also the 5th fattest state. Reminds me of a line from Animal House: "Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life."

im heading out the door, so i wont be able to respond, but ive pointed this out a few times : the state of south carolina requires all sophomores to take the SAT, everyone. some states only require the college bound take the test, and some states dont require anyone to take it. i dont mean the PSAT either, but the actual SAT. this skews our data tremendously. im not saying that we are being robbed of a much higher rank, but were doing better than the statistics show.

Evidently, it doesn't carry over to your beauty pageant contestants. :suss:

Actually it said 1 in 5 can't but your point still stands.

It's a beauty pageant. Isn't the point of those things to tell people they can get through life on looks alone ? I'm glad she won, she seems to me to embody the very concept that they are striving for.
