Priviledge escalation

I'm trying to write a file to the Windows directory on Vista but every time I do the file write gets virtualised. How can i force the system to escalate into Admin mode to write the file? Do i need to spawn a separate process with the higher priviledge level first? Thanks Russell

You need to elevate the application, you can either of: 1 - Use CreateProcess() to elevate from a separate process. 2 - Create a manifest file and embed it in you application, see here for an example. regards,
