You didn't understand :-) When *you* reply to my post, the CP scripts attempts to send you a mail notification using *my* email address as the from-address. But *because* *you* email server is *down*, it rejects the mail and the CP SMTP server bounces the mail back to the sender, this this case *me* get it now? p.s. The problem is NOT with your mail server, but for some reasons CP's DNS server cannot resolve your server's MX record :confused:

      I understand the mechanism but i missed the part when ypu said that you were getting bounced mails for the replies send to me. What does the mail header look like. What is the reason given?

                      I have never understood why 'we' get the bounced emails ? wouldn't it be better if they were returned to CP ? Regardz Colin J Davies

At least if we get them we can post a message to let the recipient know his mail's broke. I doubt that Chris has time to read the bounced email messages, or do anything to follow up on them. The DNS system is dynamic, and if your ISPs mail server goes down for a time, the records may get purged until it's been back up for a while.
