i will agree with you, but VS2005 will use IIS at the time of running. why VS not showing Web Application in Create New Project wizard ?

Example of needing IIS - doing development work involving dotnetnuke.

It doesn't? Thats wierd because this article says you can :P http://technet2.microsoft.com/windowsserver/en/library/86026b03-18b0-4c42-9884-5af83226e2bd1033.mspx?mfr=true[^] And I've installed IIS on my Vista Home Premium, although I have to admit I haven't poked it yet so I don't know what version it is.

Web applications are a part of Visual Studio SP1. http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/asp.net/Aa336618.aspx[^] So this implies: a. You haven't installed the VS 2k5 SP1 and VS 2k5 SP1 vista patch like you should have. b. You haven't bothered to search for either "installing iis7 on vista home premium"[^] or "visual studio 2005 web application project"[^]. c. your much happier to blame it on vista and bother us about it than actually go and do 5 seconds of googling yourself :P

One thing, i wondering that... if go to Turn on or off windows features dialog box -> under Internet Information Services node -> I can able to see only 2 subnodes i.e., 1) Web Management Tools, Here only one sub node showing i.e., IIS 6 Management Compatiability. IIS Management Console is not showing. && 2) Worldwide Web Services, Under this node all the .NET compatiability subnodes also not showing. i have unchecked the IIS, restarted & again checked ... but same problem. what was the problem in turn on or off windows features dialog box? plz give me the solution..
