How can I make a seach engine website?

I am trying to create a seach engine website such as yahoo.com or google.com , what kind of web applications do i have to be familiar with? what type of database? server application etc. etc. i am very positive about my project if i am successful puting a group togther. pls i need some guidance what types of web applications I must be familiar with to make it a decent search engine. - what kind of professional or people be able to accomplish this or myself, thank you

Hello! Brace yourself to build a crawler from scratch. you feed the crawler with parameters [search parameters]and it does the rest.For you to dothis you will need to program in Perl, Python and know lots of PHP and MySQL. The core of the search is the crawler; make a good one! All the best.
