I should rant for what happened this morning. Its about 8 miles ride from my home to my office and takes me about 30 mins to reach.Today,it took me about 150 mins to reach. It so happened that our governor was coming that way and the whole traffic came still. The whole public had to be on the street waiting for hours under the hot sun (about 108 Degree Farenheit) to get clearance from the police. This is such a vindictive act...just for the cause of one person. School buses, ambulances were wedged in the traffic. People who are under real emergency were gone for a toss.Is humanity under stake?.Wonder why people holding discretionary powers don't care for the public when they are obliged to do so. Does the same happen in your country too?

At least from the perspective of people who sit at Fort St. George, they may even pledged their hearts and humanity for a lumpsum monetary deposit in alien swiss banks under benami names.

The government is least bothered about that. They think that the skunk who has got elected to power is so important. They are thinking they are protecting these invalid creatures from various attacks but in reality, they are weakening them by earning the sins and curses of millions of people. When the sin count overflows, a simple 'Pat on back' from the God would teach them which is valuable. But it takes time. The mills of God grind slow but sure.

I don't think any other country would have this distinct privilege other than India. I would fondly quote a related view of John Simons Outlaw Programmer "If an Indian is asking programming question in jungle, would it still be urgent?"

Could be.India holds its time honored reputation for corruption and oafish acts. Is it because of the fact that illiterates are more or Is money value respected more than human values?

Beyond any doubts and speculations. Let me give you three reference URLs which would substantiate this point where Consumer Movement is active against checking this. Inspite of such movements, the red tape corruption is very strong to fleece the citizens of the nation. 1) Consumer Voice India 2) Corruption Eradication

I believe tax will also be an ingredient in it.Having introduced different forms of tax conventions, saving a penny has become an uphill task.

I've always wondered how anyone can justify this. I live in the Washington, DC area. Whenever the President or someone else important is out and about, the streets and highways basically shut down. Usually, my ride is peripheral to their route, so I don't get the brunt of it; but I listen to the traffic station on the radio and it just galls me to hear about people being stuck for hours in traffic all so that ONE PERSON can get where they're going a little faster. Is one person really so much more important than everyone else? I mean, that's the argument. "Their value to society is 1,000,000 times yours." Not sure I buy that.
