Yet another pointless thread

What? You're actually reading this? Man, you *are* bored. Ok, so after my initial exposure to The Net, i soon picked up the habit of using asterisks around a word to denote emphasis. When i started posting at CP though, the ability to include italics and bold text initially caught my eye as a better way, and so i abandoned the previous technique. Soon however, my natural lazyness kicked in, and i tired of all that extra typing. As with my introduction to the cursive style of handwriting many years ago, this has now left my natural output mixed, sometimes using *one* way, other times the other. A broken man, here i stand. I ask you now: which way is clearer to you as a reader? Which one do you prefer as a writer? Do you percieve them / use them as though they meant the same, or do you see subtle differences in the way they reflect on the intent of the author? What is your *take*? :)

Aaah... It's time to relax. You know what that means: a glass of beer, your favorite ergo chair... And of course, The Code Project loaded on your Personal Computer System. So go on, and indulge yourself, put your feet up. Lean back and just enjoy the articles. After all, CP sooths even the savage :bob:

As long as you don't use Big pink fonts like *this* I don't really care. But it would be quite nice to have a keyboard that was set up to add HTML Tags as needed these days. Maybe Chris could get CP to convet { *this* to this } I don't think he has much else to do these days. Regardz Colin J Davies

Well, but it gets even more complicated once you remember you're really supposed to be using <em> and <strong> :-D

[sighist]**Sorry, that web site is hopelessly outdated. The only reason I kept it up is because it won me an internship when the company looked at the source code :-D Those sections are empty because I was planning on filling them out but never got around to it. My summer project is to redo the website, with an ASP.NET XML/XSLT content management system that outputs XHTML Strict, and a real domain name on a real host server -- instead of using CSS tricks to hide the banner ads on 50megs.com. However, I'm still open to critiques, etc. Nice to see that someone actually goes there ;)
