You should seek help if this is the case. Christian Graus wrote: I take back what I said before - you ARE dumb !!!! I have never called you "dumb". You are a good musician, and as a guitar player, I can respect that. My point is that we can disagree on something without you resorting to name calling to inflame a debate.

Martin Marvinski wrote: You are right there probably is some demand among beginners and students who can't afford to buy too many books. I refuse to lower myself to responding to this, I'd hate for you to think that it hit the mark in *any* way. And FWIW, I like to think that I DO help people who are starting out. What's wrong with that ? Martin Marvinski wrote: So it takes 2 hours for your code to compile? About 3-4 minutes, I guess. Martin Marvinski wrote: .. I may have mentioned it before, but this CG fixation of yours is getting seriously disturbing. Step back, rub your eyes, take a deep breath, stretch a bit, and reflect on the relative importance of CP, CG, the age / travel time sustained by supposedly 'fresh' cheese curds, and Life in General. If that doesn't mellow you out a bit, you may want to consider less legal methods. P.S. You spelled 'your' wrong.

So go on, and indulge yourself, put your feet up. Lean back and just enjoy the articles. After all, CP sooths even the savage :bob:

Although I play up the part of being a bit of a “geeky loser” on CP, your post volume, both on CP and Usenet show a potentially serious personality disorder, where you shun the “real world”, in favor of the online one. I go on Codeproject during my lunchtime at work, and for a half hour after I get home. In my 7 months I have only posted around a thousand messages, and zero articles. In contrast, your post volume is in the top 2 percent, and your articles are just as plentiful. I myself would write an article, but I am not as creative as Ravi, who did that very well done web-parsing article. I think the goal of articles is to show something new, and not just do a simple re-write of that you have learned out of a book. That is why a lot of people are complaining about article quality. I’ve seen enough of the “unclickable buttons”, “Creating a desktop icon”, and “Look what I’ve learned from my STL book that everyone already knows”. The reason you probably post articles like these is to get some kind of mental release from knowing you have a high article count, which is probably why you have such a high lounge count as well. I think that most people are capable of having 2-5 fresh and interesting articles before they start writing things everyone already knows. I'm beginning to think you were wrong about certain aspects of Christianity, and that my Bible teachers were correct.

Aaah... It's time to relax. You know what that means: a glass of beer, your favorite ergo chair... And of course, The Code Project loaded on your Personal Computer System. So go on, and indulge yourself, put your feet up. Lean back and just enjoy the articles. After all, CP sooths even the savage :bob:

Martin does not deserve to be replied to on this, but I did want to second your statement. The point he is misisng is that although many of the articles may be a rehash of something someone read in a book, no one can afford every book on every subject. This site is a god send to people struggling with code problems specifically because of the contributions of people like CG. As far as I am concerned, if CG wants to be a bit of an ass he has earned the right. That is more than Martin ( or I :-O ) can say. I feel guilty as hell that I have never contributed anything useful, but I am a very conservative programmer, I am anal about not using anything professionally that smacks of being experimental. So my limited skill set is already very well represented on CP. Still, I learn a hell of a lot hanging out here, even if it is mostly stuff I am certain I would never use in a professional business app. "Human imagination has been sculpted by the universe within which it was born" Hmmmm...
