http://ap.google.com/article/ALeqM5h1x4a_tAaBUIIB94OXIkkV3R3a_wD90DD1VG0[^] I don't usually post in this forum, but I figure I gotta get this one out there. I'm sure you've all seen the news lately about the suicide of the madame who was planning on avoiding a prison sentence by blackmailing powerful political figures in Washington D.C. The ENTIRE American mainstream media is twisting her words to say that she was planning on avoiding a prison sentence by killing herself. Um, no. She publicly said she was planning on avoiding prison by blackmailing powerful politicians; I'm not sure how you could possibly get those two concepts confused. And, conveniently, she chose a form of suicide that involves nobody being able to witness the suicide until hours (or days) after the event took place. If I were to commit suicide because of the world screwing me over, I would make a public statement and jump off a skyscraper in broad daylight. Or, if I didn't care too much about making a public statement, I would at least use a gun, so that the neighbors would hear the gunshot and be there to witness it minutes after it happened. But, conveniently, she chose to silently hang herself in a shed so that no one would discover the suicide until long after it happened. The worst BS, though, is that none of the mainstream American media sources are remotely picking up on this; you practically have to go to foreign media sources to hear a journalist state the obvious.

Are you suggesting that the suicide wasn't? :)

If you're a black-coated government agent who's just here to "take notes", then it was nothing but random, non-insinuating commentary, and I sincerely respect the American media for their conciseness and brevity by insuring that no unnecessary details made it to the news story.

Good to hear. I'll call off the goons, but it might take a week or two for the message to get to them. So if you notice a non-descript Crown Victoria following you in the next day or so, don't fret a bit about it.

I wouldn't be surprised though if there was an injunction preventing her from releasing names--that if she did she would get additional jail time.

Oh sure. I bet you claim that Area 51 is full of weather balloons and deny the existence of a Bradley Armored Vehicle from the future being parked on the grassy knoll! Who do you work for, the CIA? The ABA? SAG?

No jail time when your dead. Wonder if she has an un-disclosed safe deposit box somewhere. I wonder which news agency gets access to it first. Who will publish, who will say what. They say she left a few suicide notes... wonder what they said?

If you have something to say about this topic, just say it. Labeling it "conspiracy" talk is a cop-out. Example: "I don't agree with your post." "I don't think this topic really matters." "I don't think this topic should be talked about here." I have good points to make, which is why I posted them.

Did you really want to paint a target on your back and then run out on the firing range?

I don't mind flame wars, even though I usually don't participate in them during work hours (for the sake of having time to do work). And I'm also not afraid of ruining the mood of this forum, seeing as it's already seen significantly more bloodshed than I could ever drum up on a post like this.

As long as you know what you're doing, I wouldn't dream of trying to talk you out of it.
