Why are they doing this?

Martin, you over-sexed candy ass, don't you know your first anscestor who came to the U.S. could have been an illegal immigrant (most probably an escaped lunatic or almost certainly a smirking chimp)? Now *that* is funny! LOLOL Anyway, all immigrants are f***in dicks and smack of homosexuality.
I think you missed my point. My concern was that we are so focused on security since Sept. 11, and now they aren't even going to make sure those who got in here illegally aren't terrorists. I have nothing against immigrants per sey.

Illegal imigrants can now use their foriegn ID cards to open checking accounts and to obtain library cards!!! What other country in the world would allow people who break the law to do this?! This is just stupid, and I want to know the names of the legislators who are behind this! News Story
a few years ago it was possible in The Netherlands to get a social security number even if you were illegal. This made it possible to get on welfare while being illegally here. Nowadays this is impossible, illegal immigrants can now only count on medicare (for free ofcourse), education for kids under 16 yrs old and support from local governments (and ofcourse a lot of foundations try to help them anyway) by the way, getting a library card here only requires an ID, i don't think has to be a Dutch ID. (where are we going to ??) on a sidenote. A trick used a lot by people from poorer countries that have a medical condition is to go to Holland, request asylum and while the request is being processed get medical attention (open heart surgery etc..) for free. Only restriction is that you will have to come from a country that we investigate the stories of refugees ( from some countries (I guess the US is amongst them) we will just send them back immedeately) and that you stretch the asylum process so it takes longer as the waiting list for the medicare Regs Rutger

It'll be much easier to track them if they have a bank account, not to mention knowing who is checking out the books on explosives :-D Michael :-) Look, try and use your intelligence, man, even if you are a politician. - The Doctor

"Hi, I'd like to join the library" "Certainly. Have you got a proof of address" "Yes. Will this 'PAY US NOW OR WE'LL SEND THE HEAVIES ROUND' bill do?" "Sure. Here's your card." -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!

The problem I have with this is that our government gives more benefits to aliens than they do to a citizen. For instance, I'd pay less in taxes if I were a legal alien starting a business in the US. It should be the same for all. Jeremy Falcon Imputek "..." - Paul Watson 07-17
