Oh wait, its ok, logic is not for everyone.
Josh Gray wrote:

No. But not knowing about the date range over which the Bible was written would detract from claims to actually knowing anything about it's content. Not knowing about it's content would render useless any opinions you might have on that content.

Even Christians claim the New Testament was written 2000 years ago[^]. Is your point that the Old testament is older than 2000 years old, or do you have ideas of your own about when the New Testament was written?

My point was that not having much of a clue on the chronology of the Bible shows ignorance of the contents, which is ignorance on the subject. Was the constitution written in 1992? Saying so because of the 27th amendment is kind of pointless, don't you think?

You are demonstrating a classic tactic of Christians on this board. An Atheist or other non Christian will make a statement, whether they are joking or arguing, and then the a Christian will try to dissect one small part of it to distract from the main point of the joke or argument. He made the joke that a book was written 2000 years ago that was for mentally challenged people, so what do you do? Zero in on the 2000 years ago part and assume he was referring to the Bible as a whole (the New Testament which was written 2000 years ago can be considered a separate book).

But would that definitely mean that they were ignorant of the contents of the constitution? BTW it wasn't me who 1 voted you.

Point taken.

It sure would not spur my 'faith' in their knowledge. Actually, I guess it would. Just knowing the date of the last amendment would surprise me from most Americans.

NP, either way, I don't worry about votes, just comments.

I write an article about VB. I claim to increment a variable 'A' by going 'A++;'. Do you have to have to be a 'VB' scholar with a PhD in 'VB' to know I'm blowing smoke? :omg: It's not like basic Biblical chronology is not available through google, and my 7th grade kid knows how to use that. Know a little about the subject is all I ask. :suss:

And once again you are surprised??? I knew it was an invitation for invective as soon as I saw the subject line. Not that I have any problem with a little dust-up but lets not pretend this thread was ever intended to be anything else.
