I am just getting irritated intensely seeing the acute deforestation spree and unrelentingly chopping down of trees by the various private contractors who work for various government agencies on the pretext of laying roads and constructing bridges thereby loading their wallet and making good a booty. These shitty bastards do not seem to understand and appreciate the essence of nature and appreciate it. Trees are greatest assets of nature. They help us in making the land stable without soil erosion and also maintaining an equilibrium in the earth. Already, the deforestation hitherto has caused enough of natural calamities like earth quakes, tornodoes, oceanic upheavals (like TSunami) and has struck terror in a significant number of Asiatic countries. Can't these guys still understand it? Are they really human or cheap baseless useless crappy skunks that they can't get or even attempt or strive to understand the greatness of Mother Nature. Today while commuting to office and the traffic was heavy. I was just watching through the arterial road in Adyar (Chennai, India) It used to be lush green avenue sometime about five years back. But now if one sees, it just throws one into a deep sea of sorrow seeing the road sans the live greenery but for a rare small tree here and there. I really think there should be some stringent law of land that if anyone chops even a branch of a tree then he and his family should be amputated into several pieces and thrown across the city. Only then, we can save the land and show some loyalty to Mother Nature. The slogan should be "Cut a tree and get your penis and all vital organs cut".

I really don't care. I hope humans destroy themselves. We deserve it.

The first part exhibits a kind of indifference. We imbibe so much resources from Mother Earth and again exploit her treasured assets. Would you be silent if some one is sabotaging your house or your neighbor? And when the home of the wildlife (animals) and various rare flora and fauna is being challenged, any human blood would boil with anger and fury.

I admit. We sowed the seeds and we ought to harvest the fruits of it. The avaricious and nonchalant greed of the mankind seems to be striking terror now all over. All these fucking government personnel make good booty by constructing artificial things destroying the fine fabric of Mother Nature. Her curse is really strong and more reverberating than anything else. Whatever these guys plot and loot in thirty years is just being shook down by various natural calamities in less than thirty seconds. It is high time that people realise their folly and preserve the Nature. If they can't preserve, at least they need to keep their dirty asses shut without littering Her; lest she rises with greater uproars.

You need not worry, it is almost impossible to destroy life on earth. It will recover eventually, with or without humans.

In a way, true. I just thought I would share this writeup by Kaberi of ChilliBreeze: http://www.chillibreeze.com/articles_various/Global-warming.asp[^] Though a very small note, it just conveys tons and tons of information that we need to read, digest and follow. There are NGOs that usher in to bring afforestation campaigns like the one by Isha Foundation: http://gramotsavam.ishafoundation.org/[^] But the problem is that the so-called People's representatives show-off in the campaigns only to strenghten their vote banks but they don't seem to maintain or allocate persons to maintain the saplings that have been planted after the event. And due to fund/resource constraint reasons, the NGOs are not able to keep up that too. All it requires is the mindset of people should become Nature-friendly and solidarity of the people alone can make a distinct real difference.

It's happening in the UK too. No road building or "improvement" programme seems to be able to be done without turning about a 200-yard/metre/meter strip along either side into a passable recreation of the Somme. Fair gets my dander up, it does.

Wow! I thought that you are a devoted temple going Vaishnava. Doesn't it seem harsh to you.

This has been discussed, again and again and again and always we (the denizens of the CP lounge) have come to the conclusion that their method of rating is pure, untouched, unadulterated, genuine, verifiable, refined trash. MIM on TIOBE

Greedy people take our patience and kindness as a benefit to them. Yudhisthira was so kind to his Kaurava brothers but nothing worked out for him. His valiant brothers like Bhimasena, Arjuna, Nakula and Sahadeva had to lift arms against them with the help of Lord Krishna to slay the wicked and to reinstate the Dharma (righteousness). :) I am not supporting cruelty to those sinners. It is just my thoughts to emphasize that laws of land must be made stringent with the loopholes therein be plugged so that offenders don't escape off.
