When will the government learn that policy shouldn't be created in overreaction to media events? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7364475.stm[^] Now I wouldn't consider myself particularly kinky... the whole latext and safety word thing isn't my cup of tea and i'm definitely not into snuff etc, but I respect an individuals right to experiment sexually, (whether first hand or by viewing media), without harming an un-consentual party. I'm also smart enough to know that raping and killing existed long before pornography came about. I'm sorry that Mrs Longhurst lost her daughter, but I feel she is going the wrong way about dealing with her death. The man who killed her was obviusly very mentally ill and she should perhaps be more focused on improving mental health care than pushing through ridiculous censorship policy. Here's a link to further information. http://www.backlash-uk.org.uk/index.html[^]

Well what do you expect? Do you really think Europe, uk, eu, or whatever is an 'evolved' society?

Yes, it's simply terrible what Marxism does for kinkiness. I'm sure the fine, ideal Jeffersonian society would tolerate all kinds of private predilections.

Its not like they can actually stop it. I can go on pireatebay and download all the porn I want, everything from whippins to soft love making. The internet is the outlet to freedom.

In some countries maybe. I'm not sure that's the case in China at the moment. I think it's the whole naughty-step approach to governance that pisses me off the most. Obviously if someone want's to find something to find material like that then they can. It's impossible to police. There's not way to draw the line effectively. I'm pretty sure that as it stands it could be argued that Jodie Foster's oscar winning performance in the Accused would be classified as illigal pornographic material. Basic Instinct also.

They are clearly over stepping their bounds. The thing is though, nobody will do a damn thing about it. They are dominated by the government. Its like bend over bitch (government speaking).

That is part of the argument against this law; it doesn't stop people, especially those that really want to, from using any kind of porn.
