Managed code gets GCd. Unmanaged code has to be manually freed or it leaks. Nish

I never knew that I will live to see someone posting a technical question in the Soapbox. I navigated away twice thinking that it was not the soapbox forum and I cliked on some other forum by mistake. Step back, rub your eyes, take a deep breath, stretch a bit, and reflect on the relative importance of CP, CG, the age / travel time sustained by supposedly 'fresh' cheese curds, and Life in General. - Shog9

Alas, your arrow hits near to the mark! For when The Beast was young, it's true Evil not yet known, it was indeed taken in by The Good Souls in Washington. Though they cared for it, fed it, and tried to lead it down the straight and narrow, it rebelled against them, and though they were saddened by it, at last they were forced to cast it out in order to save those who were with them. :((

managed code is like riding a bike with training wheels, wearing a life vest, two helmets, a welding mask and huge foam pads all around. you can still get to where you want to go, but it may take longer. and while there's increased safety since there's no way you can do much damage to yourself or anything else, all your friends will laugh at you. -c

To explain Donald Knuth's relevance to computing is like explaining Paul's relevance to the Catholic Church. He isn't God, he isn't the Son of God, but he was sent by God to explain God to the masses.
