But I'd put it as close to easy as exists, True. But in the TV contest, the candidates were only given 10 seconds to give the answer, most failed. :-O this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

Ya know, a much slicker trick would be to write the answer, but use the same color for the foreground and background...

DONT LOOK AT PREVIOUS POST OF MINE...IT HAS ANSWER :-D I am convinced that when you posted the answer,no one had explicitly(clearly) given the answer.(Rama was just tricking us. ;P) so why you say that? this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

analyze the order and rule of the following number sequence, and figure out which will be the sixth one? 2,9,28,65,126,__,.... i learn it from a TV contest this morning. is it easy or difficult? :) this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.
You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get that one. I'm definately not mathematically inclined! Simon "This is an equal opportunities airline. The pilot is blind." Sonork ID 100.10024

No I was no tricking. The answer was there in my post. sorry,Rama, maybe i used wrong word "tricking". obviously,i knew you first gave the answer because i received the notification e-mail by you. i said "tricking" because shog*9 said in his post that "people often do such tricks writing answer using the same background and foreground colors" :-O this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

Don't worry. i would dare to say more people are less "mathematically inclined" than you. And even some too smarter guys are still wondering why the sixth one is "217". :-O :suss: this is my signature for forums quoted from shog*9: I can't help but feel, somewhere deep within that withered, bitter, scheming person, there is a small child, frightened, looking a way out.

I've had a small bit of my sig that way for some time. Generally, it just contains "---" in order to cleanly separate the sig from the rest of my post in email notifications, but occasionally i'll put in something else... ;)

C'mon. It wasn't hard (i did it in around 10sec though i did use a calculater). Most number problems involve pattern recognition. zhoujun wrote: even some too smarter guys are still wondering Then they aren't that smart are they? bibamus, edamus, cras moriemur

Yeah, I failed to see it on a first attempt, came back half an hour later and spotted it straight away. Although I have scared people in the past by being about to recite powers of two (yet I can't do times tables to save my life!) -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit!
