custom validator

hello everybody. I have a little problem. I have a page, inside a page I have used gridview.Gridview contains , textbox and two level. I have used custom validator for the textbox and a label to display the message if the textbox contain no string. at the same page i used check box but it is not inside the grid. I have grouped the validation to checkbox. at the top of the page there is a dropdownbox. On selectedIndexChanged event the gridview content is changed. The problem is, I works fine ie it will display the error message if the textbox is blank for the first index of the dropdownbox, but it doesnot work for other index of the dropdownbox.
