Folder settings amnesia
-
Hi, I have been using vista for quite a while now. It does have some nice features but one of them is really driving me mad. I have been looking for a solution on the net for many months now but none of them really works 100% OK. It just occurred to me that someone here may know how to solve it. Problem: the "folder settings amnesia" in VISTA. I know VISTA uses "templates" to facilitate and automate things for certain users. Me, I am a developer and don't need any of it. I just want explorer to always show all files in "detail" with the size and "last modified" date. For pictures a "date taken" is also very useful. What I don't want is VISTA deciding to suddenly show large icons or stamp size representations of pictures and so on. Another nuisance: VISTA regularly decides to show only part of the files/directories with a line below them you have to click to see all of them. The closest I have come to a solution is the "default folder template" from "annoyances.org" but VISTA even messes with that one every now and again. Any info/help would be very much appreciated. It is a very irritating problem, I had a really good article with a fix for this but I cannot access it at the moment, but google should be your friend. Try here: Folder View Settings[^] regards,
