My GF has a problem of G-Mail attachements not opening. It appears that the temp file for the attachments are downloaded, but not saved or perhaps saved to an unknown location. I have found that if the file is downloaded to the desktop & then opened, it will work. If I use IE options to "move" the temp file location, the files will open directly instead of having to save them first. When I "move" the temp files, I give it the original location, so there is no actual moving happening. However the "move" fix seems to go away after a few uses & the process has to be repeated. Deleting the temp files make no difference. Using XP SP3 & IE 7. Anyone have any idea why IE can't remember it's temp file directory?
