I've seen lots of these, but this one seems to work pretty well. MSN Bandwidth Meter

What sort of speed are people getting on this thing? I'm currently cruising at a heady 45K. Whoa there tiger! Dave - I imagine you're getting a reasonable number... cheers, Chris Maunde

Last time I hit it I got 492Kbps, but it is not consistent. One time I actually got as low as 370Kbps, it was alarmingly slow :) (abnoxious Cablemodem user...) Seriously though, I really don't notice a significant difference in web surfing with the bigger bandwidth, it's more about rich media (video, sound) than it is about how fast CP pages load. I spend lots of time on my Laptop over a 56K modem that *rarely* connects at 56K, and web surfing is perfectly fine with it.

Careful there guys, I understand BT would like to make you an offer you *must* refuse. Kind regards, Al. VBer who wants to go back to, but will have to learn again, C++. I'll carry on using VB for the front-end; so when I get proficient at C++/STL can I jump straight to ATL and avoid the MFC

With my wonderful T1 connection at work, I was able to get 1034 Kbps and 126.7 Kbytes/sec. I wish I had this at home!!!

Just tested out my cable connection at home. I got 1027 Kbps and 125.3 Kbytes/sec. I was also streaming audio at the same time ( sorry, I just can't turn off that radio :). I guess I'll have to wait to see how many of my neighbours sign up for cable before I start running around with my hedge clippers! Snip, Snip
