I bought for my wife for a Christmas present 3 hours small weapons training. It was the first time she ever fired a weapon. She had the opportunity to fire Glock’s (17) Sigs and Smith and Wesson. I would buy the weapon she was most comfortable firing. She did not like the Glocks or any automatics. When thy fired they ejected hot brass casings that could get caught in your sweaters v neck and burn your br… if you’re a gal. In addition many ladies hold their thumb over the slide retract path and risk a broken thumb. So my wife selected a Smith and Wesson S60 .357 Magnum[^], she liked it, it’s a revolver which she could load very easily. It fires 38’s and .357 magnums. I am now having to organize baby sitting for our kids, so we can shoot on every other Friday night with dinner at a nice restaurant afterwards. Oh and by the way my wife is a good shot! And to quote a prolific poster here on codeproject, Smith and Wesson is the original point and click device ;-)

Don't make her mad. :) I think a revolver is a good choice for a lady. I don't think I care for the integral trigger lock. I think it adds a failure point, which goes against a revolvers chief selling point...reliability and simplicity. Plus it would grieve me to have to keep up with a sardine can opener. I have a 25 year old 686. It has one of the best out-of-the-box triggers of any revlover I have ever shot.

I suspect she would only do that once.

And if you're incapable of learning not to do that, you're a prime candidate to own a gun?
