Facebook is a void. There's no value added there, except the loss of one's privacy.

This may be one of the few times I've found myself agreeing with you. I've been simply amazed that people are drawn to sites like Facebook then go about posting anything and everything about themselves.

I have a web site, if you searched for my real name in quotes on Google my site would be on page 9. Since I setup a facebook page which has a link to my web site, a search on my real name (quotes or not) would bring up my facebook page as #1 on page one, and my web site is second item on page one. Not disagreeing with you, just saying from a marketing perspective... In addition it's great for communicating with friends and relatives far away.
