      Maybe they wanted to allow themselves some le-way for errors they haven't accounted for yet. :laugh: Nick Parker

        If you have them start at 1000 then the error code is always 4 digits. Sorry, but is the best I could come up with. Elaine (not very inventive at the minute) Would you like to meet my teddy bear ?

            prob for reserved codes - i.e. internal errors, like the token parser can't allocate enough memory etc

                You're probably using MFC. The first 1000 are errors internal to MFC which happen every time and are therefore suppressed by the compiler. :P Christian We're just observing the seasonal migration from VB to VC.
