You guys are abusing the soapbox

If anyone is aware of why the soapbox exists, it's me - because I'm the sole reason that it does exist (and that's a verifiable claim). The soapbox is here to keep people like Ilion out of the lounge (or at least to give him a place to post). I think everyone here needs to "up" their game a bit.

Are you feeling well? It is unlike you to vent such opinions as this. I am at a loss for words. Perhaps if you could convince him to stop being a prat the community would stop downvoting him, but I doubt even you at your most 'persuasive' could do that.

I recognized the futility in that approach long ago (and thus ignore his messages) - a mental leap that it looks like everyone else here refuses to make.

Nonetheless just as Chris created the Soapbox for you, he created the ability to delete messages for the rest of us. Just as the great Hamster-Master expects us to confine our more rowdy language to the Soapbox, He expects us to use the tool He gave us to police the place. No. Like I said, I see no solution. As bad as it may be, and it does at times look like a lynch mob, the one's lynched keep on reveling in it. Data hasn't stopped just plain littering, Adnan continues to delight in his "Islamic victories", and Ilion keeps on crapping links, kiddie insults and asterisks, so those that have had enough are ultimately bound to strike back in the provided manner. I don't recall that I was complaining about the number, but that someone asked how many it took, and I was relating my experience. Besides that, I was talking about other forums and articles. The Soapbox has always been a special case.

I agree but he has not changed his behavior. Remember 'he who must not be named' in the Lounge? No matter how much we either chided, or mocked him, he continued his silly behavior. Until Ilion changes, I foresee others voting to remove his posts. Note that they are almost always already removed by the time I come to the SB.
