Today is Charles Darwin's 200th birthday and this year marks the 150th anniversary of the publication of his "Origin of the Species". It can be reasonably argued that he is to biology what Newton was to physics.

Not remotely analogous. Newton and Darwin were scientists. Gore is a politician.

Isn't it about time for biology's Einstein?

Chaining ourselves to the moral high ground does not make us good guys. Aside from making us easy targets, it merely makes us idiotic prisoners of our own self loathing.

In the form of that christian theocracy you want to run everything? Biology has come a long way in the 150 years since Origin of the Species. The point was that Darwin put biology on a firm scientific footing just as Newton did for physics.
