I just got done watching the MTV Video Music Awards, I had watched it so I could see The Hives and The Vines play but I also saw somthing else I enjoyed... When Eminem went up to receive an award you could hear many people boo-ing him. It was definatly very much worth it. Of course if I was there I would have join in and Boo-ed him! How about you?
Oh, you're just trying to troll, aren't you? Okay, I'll bite... Boo-ed him for what exactly? Because you don't like his music? So what? I wouldn't boo N-Sync at an awards ceremony, I'd just walk out to the bar. Because you don't like what he has to say? Have you listened? I don't mean to the sound bytes the critics feed you, I mean really listened. He's not saying what his critics think he is, Elton John got the joke, what's your problem? Because he has a lot more money than you and you're resentful? You do realise that by hating him you (collectively, not you personally) cause the controversy that makes him rich, don't you? (this is the biggest irony of the Eminem phenomena - he'd be nothing without his critics) Seriously, what has he done that makes you want to Boo? Like him or not, like his music or not, he's frighteningly talented and is one of the most influential artists of the decade and millions of people, of many age groups, do enjoy listening to him. Deal with it. Who do you honestly think will be remembered longest? Eminem or the Hives? I mean don't get me wrong, I like the Hives but I couldn't buy the CD when all three songs I've heard sound the same! I just take the one I got with the Spiderman Soundtrack and I'm happy :). Paul

Staind, Creed, Tori Amos, Metallica, Pink Floyd... that would give you a decent idea of my usual tastes. But there's no getting away from the fact that he is good at what he does and makes for some interesting rap "interludes" when I'm building a new CD for my car or the office. No different really to me from Gorillaz. MTV2 is pretty good though they seem to be leaning more towards the nu-metal stuff lately. I am a big indie guitar man, and I just don't "get" all the nu-metal stuff. Mind you, I am 31 now so I will be turning into my dad very soon and will abandon MTV2 in favour of endless repeats of The Antiques Roadshow. :) As for Kym Marsh and that cherubic faced tosser from EastEnders ... it's enough to make you reach for a razor blade. I did laugh when he was fined £20K recently though - for endorsing some cheesy wares in "Hello" magazine. ha ha ha ha ha. What a cock.

You know - all that shouty predominantly American thrash stuff where the lead singer shouts into the mike about everything being shit and the lead guitarist plays so fast you can't see his hands move. Amen, Staind, Korn, Limp Bizkit, etc. I read the NME every week. It's the only way to "stay down with ver kidz". man. :)

When it started up, it was impossible to not watch it. They had a mix of great bands on there, with rock ranging from the 70's to present day. Now, it's full of new teenage rock bands with spiky hair who compose boring, miserable songs with no effort whatsoever. I can no longer bear to watch it.
